Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the company’s plans to go on a hiring spree across the country. “We plan to hire thousands of people across the U.S. this year,” said CEO Pichai. “Last year in the US we grew faster outside the Bay Area than in the Bay Area. To support this growth, we will be making significant investments in offices across nine states, including Colorado and Michigan.”
This announcement comes in the middle of the company’s plans to relocate to sunny San Jose into a beautiful new facility. The hiring spree is pseudo expected as it has become a trend for the company who has an office in at least 21 states. The company plans to open 5 new data centers across in states including Oklahoma, Iowa, and New York. Each data center employs anywhere between 70 and 350 people.
