FBI Says It Failed To Act On Tip About Parkland Shooter

The FBI admits that they received tips on Parkland shooter but that they neglected to act. Developing and more inside.

Valentine’s Day, 2018; a day that many may never forget. It will forever be a tough day for parents of victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, FL. It’s a day that the student body will never forget. A 19 year-old gunman murdered 17 students and faculty in the matter of a few minutes.

Since then, reports about the shooter and his profile have been surfacing including various reports of warning to the FBI before the attack. A person close to the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, called FBI officials with concerns about him but the bureau neglected to act. There were several protocol actions that the bureau was supposed to take after receiving that warning but they failed to do so. They also did not alert Florida’s local officials on the tip they had received.

“The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time,” a statement said. FBI Director, Christopher Wray says that they are still investigating what happened.
