#Project2020: Democratic Candidates Spar In Second Wave of Debates

CTZNS ONE | August 1, 2019

The race for the White House is all the way live and Democratic candidates are looking to reclaim the Oval Office from Republicans and the incumbent, Donald Trump. The Democratic debates have been nothing short of dramatic. Some political analyst believe that this wave of debates have been the most aggressive that we’ve seen in the modern era of public debates.

Wednesday’s (July 31st) debate was the last platform for many candidates to fight to qualify for the remaining debates, forcibly narrowing the wide range of candidates to prepare for the primary election. The frontrunner, VP Joe Biden, has been quite the target of the debates as many candidates took turns jabbing at the former Vice President for some of his policies of the past. Candidates also sparred against Bernie Sanders for his ambitious healthcare policies. Kamala Harris’ prosecutor history also became a punching point for candidates as many question her history of putting a lot of unnecessary people behind bars.
