Team USA Escapes Turkey In 93-92 Victory At FIBA, Prepares For Japan

In the second game of FIBA pool play, Team USA found themselves down by two points in the fourth quarter. USA Forward, Jason Tatum was fouled with 0.1 seconds left on the game clock, time Tatum used to sink two free throws forcing an overtime. USA would get the victory in the extra period, extending their undefeated play in the pool.

Khris Middleton sealed the deal for Team USA in overtime with two clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left giving Team USA a 93-92 victory over Turkey. Middleton also had a team-high of 15 points in the win.

This improves Team USA’s record to 2-0 in Group E where they will face Japan on Thursday (Sep.5) at 8:30AM EST.
