Ex-Dallas Policewoman Amber Guyger has officially been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Guyger was the shooter in the tragic 2018 killing of Botham Jean in his own apartment.
A jury found Guyger guilty of murder Tuesday (Oct.1) after she entered Jean’s home and executed him allegedly thinking that she was in her apartment and that he was an intruder.
In an unbelievably forgiving tone, Botham’s family embraced Guyger with love and forgiveness after the sentencing was read. “I love you as a person and I don’t want to wish anything bad on you,” Brandt Jean said before they hugged. Brandt is Botham’s brother.
The family also encouraged Guyger to seek the lord saying that Botham would want her to do the same.
